The Need for an Active Living Centre

According to the Premier's Council for Persons with Disabilities, one in six Albertans has some form of disability.  It is estimated that approximately 500,000 people in Alberta and 120,000 Calgarians with disabilities will benefit from a public facility and playing fields that are barrier free. The Multipurpose Fieldhouse would be designed to ensure that all individuals, including those with disabilities, will have access to all of the amenities and recreation services offered to other Calgarians.

The following is a brief summary of proposed programming. For a more detailed explanation of what the CMF active living centre is intended to provide, click here.
